Hello Kitty Wearing a Chef Hat and is holding a bowl and wisk

Here are some of the recipes that I was taught by my family. There isn't much, but I wanted to share with everyone.

Dip and Sauces

Guacamole Dip

Here's a simple guacamole dip that I used whenever my mom buys avocados (which is not too often). Yes, I use guacomole seasoning, which is cheating. But at least it's better than the time one of my older sister's ex put mayonnaise in a batch! She had to go buy new avocados to replace that mess (I think he did that just be mean).

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 ripe tomato, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of either lime or lemon juice
  • 1 pkt of guacmole seasoning
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • a dash of garlic salt

Preparation

  • Slice the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop into a bowl.
  • Mash the avocado with a fork and make it as chunky or smooth as you’d like.
  • Chop the onions and the tomatos and put it in the bowl.
  • Put a tablespoon of either lime or lemon juice in the bowl.
  • Pour a packet of guacmole seasoning into the bowl.
  • Add a pinch of black pepper and garlic salt into the bowl.
  • Mix the ingredients together.
  • Give it a taste test and add more salt or line juice if needed.
  • Serve the guacamole with tortilla chips.
Meatloaf Glace

This is a glace that my mom likes to make for the meatloaf that she sometimes make. While yes I put tablespoon and teaspoons in it, mom rather put a huge amount in it until she's satisfied on how it tatse.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of A1 sauce
  • a dash of brown sugar

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, put in 2 tablespoons of ketchup.
  • Put in 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce in the bowl.
  • Put in a tablespoon of worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard and A1 sauce in the bowl.
  • Put a dash of brown sugar in the bowl.
  • Mix the ingredients together.
  • Once it mixed, put the glace on the meatloaf.
  • Put the meatloaf in the oven and cook it for 2 hours.
  • Once cooked, take the meatloaf out and let it cool.
  • Once cooled, serve immediately.

Spaghetti with Hot Dogs

A classic meal for children that I once made and the family liked it! I used a packet of gluten-free spaghetti because my mom and older sister can't eat the regular stuff anymore without getting sick. The original recipe said use bell peppers, but we didn't have any, so I took them out.

And if your wondering if your reading what your reading when one of the ingredients is a jar of vodka sauce. IT IS! It's basically tomato sauce with vodka mixed in. But don't worry, there's no alcohol in the sauce. It got burned off when it was made. Trust me, that was my biggest concern when I have it the first time as I don't like alcohol because of the bitter tatse.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of spaghetti
  • 1 packet of hot dogs
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic grated
  • 1 large jar of vodka sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • a dash of salt
  • a dash of black pepper
  • a dash of Parmesan cheese

Preparation

  • Cook the spaghetti in the well-salted water for about 10 mintues. Drain the pot and put it aside.
  • Chop up the hot dogs in put them in a medium saucepan. Saute them for 5 minutes.
  • Chop the medium onion and put it in the saucepan. Saute them for 2 minutes.
  • Grat the 2 garlic cloves and put them in the saucepan. Saute them for 2 mintues.
  • Set the heat on the saucepan to low and pour the vodka sauce in it.
  • Add a teaspoon of dried basil, dried oregano and a dash of salt and pepper in the saucepan.
  • Mix the ingredients in the saucepan and simmer it with a lid on for 15-20 mintues Turn off stove when finished.
  • Grab a small bowl, put in spaghetti, hot dog with the vodka sauce and put a dash of Parmesan cheese.
  • Mix well and serve right away.
Tuna Salad

First introduced in 2012 by one of my aunts' 2nd husband (who later died in a motocycle crash, 7 years later), this is the reason why I start eating tuna salad again after getting bored eating it with just the tuna and the mayonnaise. This is how I make my tuna salad as my mom and older sister tend to add celery and boiled eggs in their's.

Ingredients

  • 2 tuna cans, packed in water
  • 1/2 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 ripe tomato, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • a pinch of sea salt
  • a pinch of black pepper

Preparation

  • Drain the tuna in the sink, after drained, put tuna in a bowl
  • Chop the onions and the tomatos and put it in the bowl.
  • Add 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise in the bowl.
  • Add a pinch of black pepper and sea salt into the bowl.
  • Mix the ingredients together.
  • Give it a taste test and add more salt or pepper if needed.
  • Serve how you like it.
